Follow the Mentor in discord server

The mentor/ mentee relationship is a symbiotic relationship. “It is important to remember that this is a two-way relationship.

Keep in mind that this is a professional relationship with other IT Pros, not a friendship, and it needs to be treated as such.

TestOut PC Pro Course

If have followed the first task successfully you should have TestOut access. If you didn’t get access to the TestOut account please contact your discord administrator.

Our advisory videos focus on the important skills from the TestOut courseware.

Tips:

-Do not skip or rush the content (It will not help in the long run)

– – Don’t get stuck in deep learning. If you don’t understand a specific term or idea, try to research a little but don’t spend too much time on it. You will come across many words, terms and skills again from different courses or projects.

-Follow the advisory video in the discord server
-Perform labs multiple times (In IT, you will perform a task repetitively, this is to train your mind and accept this behavior of receptiveness)
-When you are going through content or labs, are you asking yourself questions? You should ask yourself interview questions based on the content you learn or practice.

Practice with Practice labs

After finishing TestOut chapters 1-12, members should request practice lab access to start JSS technical courses with the Practice labs.
JSS courses cover help desk administration and real-world skills, including managing system resources (users, group users, and system storage). By completing this course, you will be able to configure, secure, manage users, and apply user- and host-based security. You will participate in Project labs and evaluate system administration concepts as they apply to real-world scenarios.

How to request access?

A mentor in the JSS program will guide you about the JSS account and the courses.
