Importing Contacts (in bulk)

Introduction

Here we conclude our look at Outlook 365’s features.

Calendar

In the lower left hand corner of the screen, click the calendar icon.

(“Calendar” view displays).

Creating an Event

Click on the date.
(A calendar event dialog box displays).

Enter the event information and click Save.

Sharing a Calendar Event

Outlook allows you to share event information with others.

Select the calendar item and click Share (upper right corner).

Enter recipient information and click Share.

Groups

Any groups you are a member of are visible in the lower navigation bar, under Groups.

If you select the group, you can see how many members it has.

Note: If you click New group, you can create a new group from here.

Discover groups

Shows you any public (not private) groups.

Click Groups/ Discover groups

Manage groups

Allows you to manage any group that you own.

Click Groups/Manage Groups

NOTE: These group options are also in the Admin module, but presented differently.

People

At the bottom of the Navigation window, click the People icon.
(“Your contacts” screen displays).

  • Your contacts – external contacts (e.g., retirees from the company, or vendors)
  • Your contacts list – distribution list of your contacts.

Groups

With People icon selected, groups shows you groups that are relevant to you.

  • Member – displays groups you are a member of.
  • Owner – displays groups you are an owner of.

Directory

Default Global Address List – displays the GAL.

Importing Contacts (in bulk)

Scenario: A new employee wants to import a large number of contacts into Outlook.

In Microsoft 365 admin center, expand Settings.
(“Settings” menu displays sub items).

Click Setup.

Scroll down to Data Migration.

Follow steps to import items.
